Amy

A big hello to the team at Somebody Weigh Better,
Today I cracked the sub 80kg mark, something that I had decided in years gone by was an unachievable goal, and I knew I had to write and tell you just how much Somebody Weigh Better has impacted on my life.

For my entire life I have been overweight.  As a child I had puppy fat and then I moved onto being a chubby teen.  Over the years my weight fluctuated, at worst tipping 105kg, at best in the high 80's (for about a week).
A few years ago I decided to make a change, I started going to the gym occasionally, I quit smoking and I tried to eat healthier, this allowed things to stay pretty consistently around the 90kg mark (which is still 15-20kgs overweight for my height).  I ran (slowly) a half marathon but I was still remaining the same 15kgs overweight.

A few months ago decided to do the Physiomed Women's Tri Series and as part of the entry I received a month's trial of somebody.co.nz. My business partner and I had been talking about getting serious about weight loss but both of us had really gotten to point where it felt unachievable. Each of us was pretty active, smart and savvy- obviously this had to be a design flaw with our bodies.

We decided to give somebody.co.nz a shot.  We set ourselves what at the time felt like unachievable goals and started working and logging information.  We were instantly hooked.  She signed up straight away; I extended my membership after the initial month.  Neither of us has looked back since.

I am constantly surprised where there are hidden calories, believe me I no longer have those flat whites that I wasn't really enjoying anyway and that cup of nuts that I thought were a healthy option are out the window.  I no longer match my boyfriend bite for bite, I now know what exercise to do when I don't have much time and with Somebody Weigh Better I can have my cake, eat it and then go to the gym or mow the lawns to earn it off.

Today I reached the 79.5kg mark!  In a month I intend to reach my initial goal of 75kg and now I know I can reach a healthy weight for my height and stay there.   There is no design flaw in my body; it just takes work and the right tools.  I highly recommend the use of somebody.co.nz as a tool for weight loss and weight maintenance.
