My name is Hamish Gillespie I am almost 48 years old and spend most of my working week sitting behind a desk managing a contracting company with 60 staff.
I have always been reasonably active enjoying the outdoors life style, biking, waterskiing and surfing. Over the years and after a couple of kids plus a busy career, my weight along with my pants size seemed to increase every winter.

I knew of the Somebody Website, as Cher and our kids attended the same school and we had socialised together casually for some years. I was also aware of her passion for nutrition and had some tentative discussions about her coming into work and discussing nutrition and wellbeing with our staff. In the process of getting this happening I decided it would be good to lead by example and join up as a trial. It didn’t take much arm twisting as I had just seen some recent summer photos which made me think seriously about my size!!  
I have been using the SomeBody web based tool for 8 months now and have lost 25kg’s, which has been absolutely amazing and relatively straight forward thanks to the way the website works. On the advice from Cher, I kept my exercise very easy at the start with walking being the mode of choice.
We males tend to go hard out when we decide to get fit and loose weight as I have in the past and all we end up doing is having injury issues and then the exercise stops and hence the weight loss plan falls by the wayside. The walking was easy to start with and regular at 4 - 5 times a week. While the exercise was happening the website taught me about energy in, energy out balance and after a short time the weight started to fall off. I am also gluten intolerant so diet choices are not always easy when travelling on business or even in day to day choices. However due to the flexible nature and design of the website it was all very user friendly. I have now progressed into some more hard out style exercise (Mountain Biking 3- 4 hour rides) which is now so much easier as you can imagine without that extra 25kg. People whom I haven’t seen in sometime have conversations with me and don’t realise who I am and overall I feel so much better.

I have also noted that by and large my body and metabolism is working so much better and this makes me feel better overall. Exercise is no longer a chore and you feel such a buzz after it. Personally I have been surprised once I got into the flow, how much I didn’t know or understand about food and the exercise relationship. Once I understood this and experienced it things started to happen for the better.

I personally recommend this simple, effective and very achievable solution to anyone who wishes to loose weight and get fit in a safe and easy way.
